The Master of Library Information Science (MLISc) is the master's degree that is required for most professional librarian positions. After obtaining Bachelor's degree in library and information science, students can opt for one-year regular Master's degree course in the same discipline. Those who have passed B.LISc. and M.LISc. degrees are eligible to become librarians or university library assistants.

Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction for the contact programme classes and the self instructional reading material suplied by the Centre for Distance Education will be in English only.
Course of Study
At the end of the year, the candidate has to appear for the M.L.I.Sc. examination. The examination consists of Seven theory papers and One Practical paper and Viva-voce as given in the course structure. Each theory paper carries 100 marks with internal assessment component.
